Figures: Desmond – December 2015

The output figures of the experiments and the re-analysis fields are collected here. The maps are grouped according to the experiments, the initial dates and the meteorological variables. They can be watched with clicking on the small pictures after opening a table below. It pops up the figure in its original size and one can step forward to the next image or backward to the previous one using the arrows in the small frame.

Some figures are gathered in a structured way into a document to have a complete visual impression about the impact of the initial condition, the lead time and the resolution on the forecast quality. These documents are available here for Storm Desmond: .

To assemble and visualize the own output figures, a few HTML templates are prepared and zipped into the Desmond_OutputBrowsing.tar.gz file. Assuming that all the output pictures are placed in the same directory, the .tar.gz file has to be downloaded and uncompressed also here:

The templates can be activated with opening any of the .html files (e.g., startdate_T255.html) in a web browser (Firefox or else) and further instructions can be read there.

Retrieval of the complete package is also possible using wget (wget builds up the same directory structure as in the ftp site):
